Choose to be Glad: 3 Ways to Embrace Gladness in Your Life!

It's tough to be happy all the time. We live in a world that is full of stress and negativity. But it is possible to choose to be glad, no matter what life throws your way. Declare this with me: I choose to be happy. This blog post will discuss three ways to embrace gladness in your life and find bliss even when times are tough. We hope you find these tips helpful!

What Does the Bible Say about Gladness?

The natural meaning of glad is the state or quality of being glad; pleasure; joyful satisfaction; cheerfulness. The spiritual sense of gladness is—a heart attitude of happiness, contentment, and thankfulness despite circumstances. God's Word is full of verses that tell us to be glad.

  • Psalm 100: 1- 2 declare, "make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing ."

  • Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice ."

Other versions say "be happy" or "be full of joy." This verse goes on to say why we should rejoice: "… for the Lord is at hand ." What does that mean? It means He is close by the Bible is the following: "Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!" - Psalm 32:11. So from just these different verses, we see that the Bible tells us to be glad and rejoice. That seems pretty straightforward. But how do we do that? Especially when life gets tough and things happen that we don't necessarily want?

Here are three ways that you can choose to be glad, no matter what life throws your way:

Tip # 1:Make a List of Things You're Thankful For!

When you start feeling down, make a list of things you are thankful for. This could be anything from your health to your job to your family and friends. Just take a few minutes to write down everything you are thankful for in your life. Doing this will help shift your focus from the negative to the positive and help you see all the good things in your life.

Tip # 2: Focus on the Present

Focus on the Present Moment, the past. But both of those things are out of our control. The only thing we can control is the present moment. So instead of dwelling on things that you can't change, focus on what you can do right now. This could be something as simple as taking a deep breath or enjoying a cup of coffee. Just take a few minutes to appreciate the good things in your life and be present in the moment.

Tip # 3:Find Something to Smile About Every Day

No matter how bad your day is going, there is always something that you can find to smile about. It might be something as small as a funny meme or getting a text from a friend. Whatever it is, make sure to find something to smile about every day. This will help improve your mood and choose to be glad, no matter what!

It's easy to get caught up worrying about the future or dwelling on the past!

Gladness is a Choice!

It's up to you to choose gladness, no matter the situation. You may not control everything that happens in your life, but you can always choose how you react. With a bit of practice, you can train yourself to find moments of joy in even the most difficult circumstances. By making gladness your default setting, you open yourself up to greater happiness and peace of mind. How will you choose to be glad today?

Prayer For Gladness!

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You for the gladness that comes from living a life committed to You. Please help us focus on being glad for all the good things in our lives, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. We know that You are always with us, and You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you for Your love and care. In Jesus's name, Amen!
